Combi DVD-Video – Most requested features

- Ability to record video from tape to DVD: This is probably the most requested feature of all, as many people still have a lot of old VHS tapes of the family grow, weddings or favorite television age – and in a few years time is likely no way to see them. Buyer beware, because although most DVD Video Combi models have a DVD burner in a minority only has a DVD player and this will do the trick.
- Ability to "edit" old recordings: This is another in line with demand, especially because when the old programs were recorded from the TV in the last days before VideoPlus, it was very difficult to get a "clean" recording without unwanted images on the ends. Through a combination of video DVD that has this feature, you must have a hard disk, represented by "hard" in the name or model number. You basically copy the contents of the tape to the hard drive and edit it there before writing the "clean" recording on DVD.

- The quick start: This feature allows you to run around the house and soon begin recording the key episode of "The Law" or whatever, without undue delay. Note that is a relatively rare and more of a combination of DVD video can take up to 30 seconds to initialize.
- Ability to read and playback of video tapes damaged or worn: this is a difficult issue because, although it is understandable that it will be very important for you if you happen to have a tape of damage that has accumulated a recording, no manufacturer will ensure that your machine will face each tape. Additionally, you may damage the machine, so I would take the tape to a conversion specialist – will be cheaper than a repair job!
