YouTube, the files on British television.

The vast database called YouTube is an absolute treasure of video entertainment, shows and movies. As with any mixed bag, however, the person is seeking (in our case the viewer) has to know what they want and how to find it. Yes, all you need do is enter a name for the show or clip you want and, if you give the correct keyword, you may probably come with a clip relative to what you're looking for. But what if, for example, interested in a genre of movies, sports, opera, television, or even jazz and classical music do not know any names? You're starting in that genre.

This happened not long ago. I had seen several episodes of British television series as a young man growing up in Toronto. A couple of years I began to realize that many of the shows we had seen as a child now could be available in some form online. Indeed, after some research, I was surprised to find a treasure of Internet content related to my new area of interest.

Speaking of the available on the Internet, one of the interesting things I've learned is that Google's search engine file members in countries around the world. That is, if you do a search on Google UK (to get there, simply type in the UK Google search box) offers search results that are very different from those available through Google, to dry. The UK branch offers a wide range of outcomes related to England which is through the Google site.

First, he found that there are a variety of written material on-line review of old British television programs. Guidelines for the actors, the list of dramas and comedies in the UK, the list is long and varied. Britain, of course, is the home of Shakespeare, and so the British would take very seriously their performance. My first area of interest was the TV comedy. Here is a site where you can find plenty of information about situation comedies made in Great Britain: Top British Sitcoms. From this list, I was able to search YouTube and view dozens of great comedy that goes back to the early 1950. As I watched the shows, I had the opportunity to reflect on times when they were produced (usually set in the 1950s through 70 years). The verbal content, jokes and even the quality is reminiscent of the era. The parties in the sample tend to be very well acted and the sample reflect a more humble and simple attitude toward things that often occurs today.

Here are some of my favorites: Keeping up appearances: In this show, suburban snob Hyacinth Bucket devotes her time to put dinner with candles and doing their best to impress useless that they can get their hands on. Only Fools and Horses: This was a big surprise for me since I had never heard of him. Turns out this story of two brothers marketeers is the most popular British comedy. On buses: A series of the sixties on the basis of the lives of two undergraduate bus drivers and their activities at work, driving double-decker buses. Fawlty Towers star John Cleese of Monty Python fame. In this series, which plays the role of a capricious landlord. The episodes are timeless. There are dozens of comments at the top comedy site top British Sitcoms. For examples of these, simply copy the name of the program on YouTube UK (oh, yes, YouTube also has a file of members in the United Kingdom and other countries) and see what happens. YouTube To reach the UK, simply type it into Google.

As for British drama series, again the same principles for seeking application content. Check to Google UK, I find reviews and lists of dozens of fiction series. The British Film Institute has reviews of many of the shows produced there. The link above has a rating of twenty of the drama series produced in the upper part of the United Kingdom since television began there. Once again, many episodes or at least clips of these programs can be found in the archives of YouTube or YouTube UK. Of course, this is just a sampling of the many drama series produced in the UK.

In the two genres of comedy and drama, I have shown you how to begin to see large television episodes online in the UK through YouTube. The material is often timeless and always entertaining. In some cases you can watch streaming episodes directly. In others, only you can find sample clips available. I hope this guide will help you find a new place to watch traditional TV and the best part is that most of it is free.
